Our client KLM Spatial offers specialised skills and extensive expertise in Town Planning, Urban and Landscape Design, Land Surveying, Building Design, Civil Engineering and Civil Construction Management.
We are looking for a full time Lead Civil Engineer to lead, co-ordinate, and contribute to the design and delivery of engineering and land development projects in the Gippsland region. This role will support the delivery of other KLM Projects where there is a civile engineering component, and manage clients, stakeholders and junior staff in the Warragul office.

- Act as the client/stakeholder contact for projects or enquiries at the KLM Warragul office.
- Assist in building/leading a local team which will be responsible for delivery of projects in the Gippsland & surrounding areas
- Business development (Marketing of KLMS) as a senior representative
- Act as the design lead on projects and overseeing all aspects of the project including, resource planning and invoicing.
- Prepare high quality designs and providing technical engineering advice that meet KLM Spatial’s and our clients’ expectations.
- Establish and communicate the scope and expectations of the project from a technical, timing, and hours of effort perspective.
- Prepare and check detailed civil designs.
- Review, evaluate and check design and documentation in accordance with KLM Spatial’s QA procedures and relevant authority standards.
- Act as discipline lead (design) on projects and oversee invoicing, resource planning and project control of those work packages.
- Contribute to ongoing continuous improvement in processes and systems where appropriate.
- Quoting/Tendering/Pricing fee proposals for new projects
- Cost estimating, early concept and master planning advice.
- Liaison with water authorities and other gov groups, council, re networking
- Attending local networking events, engineering and otherwise.
What you’ll bring to the role:
- Bachelor of Engineering
- Member Institute of Engineers Australia
- 10 years experience in engineering positions
- Strong knowledge of relevant design standards and authority expectations for subdivision engineering practices in metropolitan Melbourne and Regional Victoria
- Knowledge of the broader planning, development subdivision process and industry
Working knowledge of the following:
- 12D
- Auto-cad
- MS Project
