Your new role:
Reporting to the Principal - Cyber Resilience, the Cloud Security Engineer Lead is responsible for ensuring that Azure Cloud security technologies in use within the AustralianSuper environment are adequately secured. This role will support the implementation of new cloud-based security technologies along with the ongoing management of policy and configuration to ensure that optimal security posture is maintained to support the delivery of AustralianSuper business outcomes.
Key duties include but are not limited to:

• Provide technical thought leadership and ensure alignment of cloud security capabilities and solutions to target architecture, standards, and best practices.
• Act as the prime subject matter expert for cloud security engineering for internal and external stakeholders.
• Guide and collaborate with engineers in developing good quality detailed designs and implement quality solutions aligned to target architecture and best practices.
• Ensure that architecture, design, and implementation provide adequate security.
• Own a nominated set of security capabilities, driving innovation, uplift and enhancement in response to emerging threats, colleague feedback, to maintain control effectiveness and to drive continuous improvement.
• Proactively monitor and stay up-to-date with emerging cloud and security technologies, trends and approaches, in order to maintain the currency of our cloud security posture.
• Provide strategic input into business decisions related to security enhancement, to support risk management.

What you'll need:

• 10 years' experience working in medium to large IT environments.
• 5 years' working with Azure Public Cloud services designing and building cloud solutions using IaaS and PaaS services.
• Understanding of current security threats, Microsoft security best practices and patterns.
• Intermediate coding skills in Python, PowerShell, Bash or similar.
• Hands on with Infrastructure as Code and experience provisioning resources using Terraform and ARM templates.
• Experience building infrastructure in cloud via Azure DevOps CI/CD deployment pipelines.
• Knowledge of container frameworks, Docker, Kubernetes, and AKS.
