Lead Data Modeler

Our client is an industry leader seeking a Data Modeller for a 12 month fixed term contract engagement. The position is within the Technology group, and they are seeking an Data Modeler with strong hands-on experience in developing Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data Model. The candidate must have experience in developing large scale data models that fits multiple lines of business. The work will involve developing strategic state-of-the-art solutions using agile methodologies and integration with many application/services.

Responsibilities:

• Define, develop, and implement the Enterprise Data Model (for assigned PMO Project) across our organization and its entities.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business analytical requirements and map them into logical and physical data models using relevant modelling tools.
• Create and maintain artefacts related to data models, such as DDLs, data mappings, DMLs, Data Dictionaries, and Change Registers.
• Implement robust processes to govern the development and maintenance of data models.
• Provide leadership to engineering teams responsible for building data assets and analytical teams using them to deliver insights.
• Resolve production issues related to Data Vault and Dimensional models and conformed data layers.
• Proactively identify and manage data quality issues in collaboration with the BIR Team.
• Develop and improve data modelling principles, processes, and standards in alignment with our IT architectural principles.
• Work with project teams and our IT department to implement data asset standards and governance processes.
• Support the development of the overall data strategy in collaboration with the Project Team and BIR leadership.
• Build collaborative relationships with project teams, stakeholders, executives, and working groups.
• Ensure compliance with relevant EEO and WHS regulations.
• Perform other duties as required and appropriate for this classification.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
• Proven experience as a Data Modeller or similar role.
• Strong expertise in conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling.
• Experience with relevant modelling tools and data modelling standards.
• Knowledge of Data Vault and Dimensional models is a must.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with EEO and WHS regulations.
