Wood is recruiting a Lead Electrical Engineer as part of our strategic growth plan for 2024 and beyond. You will join our Operations business in a pivotal role as we partner with a major player in the Oil & Gas industry on a major brownfields Engineering Service Contract. Based in Perth CBD, this is a permanent role and is available as a full-time / part-time (job share) basis.
Wood's "Operations" APAC West business delivers brownfields engineering, procurement, construction, optimization, and technical services to the Oil & Gas industry and enjoys long-term partnerships with some of the region's most prominent producers located in Western Australia, Northern Territory and Southeast Asia.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Reporting to the Discipline Manager, you will step up and into a dedicated client contract team. You will balance technical, team, client, and project leadership across onshore gas plants (including LNG) and offshore gas and condensate production facilities and thrive on the challenge of:
- Working across a range of engineering projects at any phase including: - concept identification, selection and definition, FEED, detailed design/execute, commissioning and start-up, as-building, and closeout.
- Setting clear technical direction for direct reports on any assigned projects and work scopes.
- Representing the Electrical discipline in design reviews, HAZOPs, HazIDs and LOPA.
In this highly visible client facing role, your dual focus on relationships and delivery will be essential. Anticipating client needs beyond the immediate scope, you will drive technical excellence and assurance on the Electrical engineering portion, while enabling the ongoing growth and development of your team. You will also work in close partnership with other disciplines and the client to enable robust technical decisions that ultimately add value to the client and asset portfolio.

QUALIFICATIONSYou will be able to work lawfully in Australia and hold full working rights for this location. If you have a visa application in progress, you are also encouraged to apply.
Suitably qualified in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution, ideally you will have proven experience working in a similar Lead / Principal Electrical Engineering role, supported by 15+ years of relevant design engineering experience within the Oil & Gas production and / or processing industries.
In addition, you will:
- Be recognized as an expert in Electrical engineering and have knowledge of advanced principles and techniques of engineering, with experience delivering within a challenging and complex multi-discipline environment.
- Be a leader of people with several years of supervisory experience, capable of engendering an entrepreneurial spirit of cooperation and energizing diverse teams to adopt best practice, driving optimal performance with safety at the heart of everything we do.
- Have a professional level of knowledge of relevant regulatory framework and legislation with an ability to apply relevant technical practices, codes, and standards.
- Be commercially astute with a "solutions mindset", skilled in the management of risk during the design process consistent with safety, technical and commercial requirements.
- Be an articulate communicator (both written and verbal) including well-developed technical report writing and professional presentation skills.
- Have excellent knowledge of MS Office applications, spreadsheets, and commercial engineering programs.
- Have a passion energy security / transition with the vision to navigate energy models of the future, coupled with your proven experience partnering with clients to be more efficient, sustainable, and optimized to deliver the best energy mix in their respective markets.
