Project Overview:

Pluto Train 2 is the expansion of a second LNG train at the existing Pluto LNG onshore facility near Karratha in Western Australia run by Woodside Energy.

Pluto Train 2 will process Scarborough gas and have an LNG capacity of ~5 million tonnes per annum. As part of the construction of Pluto Train 2, additional domestic gas infrastructure will be installed to increase capacity to ~225 Terajoules per day.

Woodside Energy has selected Bechtel to deliver the Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning scope of work for Pluto Train 2.

Position Overview:

SETROUTE® is an Electrical Database for electrical raceway and cable management used throughout the life of a facility from design, procurement of bulk materials, and component installation for both design and field control of electrical cables, raceways, equipment, terminations, jumpers and cable routes. The SETROUTE® Administrator utilizes SETROUTE® during the construction phase of a project. The SETROUTE® Administrator reports to the Lead Discipline Field Engineer (Electrical/Instrumentation).

What you bring:
  • Integral part of the Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Field Engineering team.
  • Uses the SETROUTE® system in areas including application support, quantity tracking, material withdrawal, cable reels control, issuing installation cards, construction work packaging, start-up system scoping, and associated work processes.
  • Analyzes, diagnoses, and verifies design engineering data received in SETROUTE® against the issue for construction drawings to ensure data accuracy and completeness, taking the necessary actions to correct data if inconsistencies are found.
  • Supports the installed quantities tracking process maintaining the SETROUTE® database up to date and reports installed quantities progress on weekly bases to field project controls while demonstrating strong leadership.
  • Perform the role of an Electrical and Instrumentation Field Engineer as required by the Project Field Engineer.
  • Receives technical and administrative supervision from the Lead E/I Field Engineer.
  • Performs assignments independently with instructions as to the general results expected.
  • Receives technical guidance as appropriate from a senior discipline team member on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.
  • Makes frequent contact with Field Engineers as necessary to gather or give status information to support field engineering activities and quantity tracking.
  • Contacts field engineering discipline staff specialists as needed to gather specialized information or specific support.
  • Contacts field project controls staff as needed to gather specialized information or specific support.
  • Checks and verifies with the engineering SETROUTE® super user the SETROUTE® configuration.
  • Reviews and evaluates engineering data transferred to construction to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Devise and communicate to supervisory personnel corrective actions if data inconsistencies are found.
  • Has a good understanding of electrical materials and materials management.
  • Supports the cable reel administration process, cable cuts and cable pulls.
  • Has a good understanding of quantity reporting processes and produces quantity reports.
  • Provide technical direction to field engineers with SETROUTE® related matters.
  • Inputs lay down location for all commodities for support of construction work package development.
  • Inputs electrical information not considered by engineering based on construction requirements.
  • Issues the heat shrink marks for cables and conduits.
  • Issues the installation cards to control installation progress and SETROUTE® construction statuses.
  • Works with supervision and design engineering to support the construction work activities.
  • Collaborates with field engineering with the control and verification of installed quantities.
  • Responsible to maintain records of quantities and construction inspection work.
About you:
  • Recognized degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Construction of LNG project or similar industry experience of five or more years is preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction installation work packaging, quantity reporting, start-up systemization and handover, control of punch items and material withdrawal is preferable.
  • An understanding of electrical engineering, electrical materials, electrical codes and electrical industry standards.
  • Microsoft Office Suite intermediate skills with emphasis in Microsoft Access and Excel.
  • An understanding of the 3D model review tools to be able to verify Design Engineering information.
  • An understanding of purchasing to be able to check material availability when working with Construction Work Packages.
  • Work experience in information systems or relevant equivalent experience in information systems disciplines, and/or
  • Actual work experience providing exposure and on-the-job training in a technical or administrative position supporting construction engineers or superintendents, and/or Degree in technical related field.
  • Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications in accordance with current Bechtel Standard Application Program (BSAP) standards.
This position is available to both local and non-local personnel. For non-locals (FIFO/DIDO), the working roster is 3/1.

Additional Information

This position has responsibilities that include exposure to changing environmental, construction, and operational conditions, which may include: extensive walking in and around an active construction and/or operations site, climbing ladders, working at heights from work platforms including scaffolding, and mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), use of personal fall arrest equipment, walking and working on uneven surfaces, working in constricted and/or confined spaces, variable work shifts (e.g., day, night, weekends, 1st, 2nd, 3rd shift, etc.), and work in inclement weather. Some lifting may be required. Candidate must be able to use standard issued Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) required for each assigned task (i.e. respirator, harness, life vest, hearing protection, etc.).

The Pluto Train 2 Project is a Major Hazard Facility meaning this is a non-smoking site and no tobacco products – i.e. cigarettes, vapes, lighters, tobacco - are permitted to be brought to the site.
