We're looking for a Lead Inspector (Industrial) to join us in making a difference to people's lives. The Lead Inspector (Industrial) takes on a broader role and assists the Operations Manager.

As Queensland's work health and safety regulator-working for the Office of Industrial Relations is more than just a job. ***12 Month Continuous Applicant Pool***

The Lead Inspector (Industrial) is a senior field-based position who leads an efficient, flexible and responsive state-wide team of inspectors. You'll support the Operations Manager by assisting with operational requirements and providing supervision, mentoring and coaching to inspectors in the field.

About the team

Workplace Health and Safety Queensland (WHSQ) enforces work health and safety laws, investigates workplace fatalities, serious injuries, prosecutes breaches of legislation and educates employees and employers on their legal obligations. We're responsible for improving work health and safety in Queensland and helping to reduce the risk of workers being killed or injured on the job.

We do this by making sure work health and safety laws are followed, investigating work-related fatalities and serious injuries, educating workplaces on ways to comply with legislation, taking legal action when work health and safety laws are broken and educating employees and employers on their legal obligations.

Your key responsibilities

This role will challenge and develop your ability to engage with stakeholders, partner and educate the community in safety matters and ensure compliance within a regulatory framework.

You'll be part of the solution to keep Queenslander's safe at work and see the direct impact of your role in the community. As a Queensland public sector employee you will also have employment security and access to flexible work, health and wellbeing programs, competitive salary and superannuation and support for development. If you are looking for more than just a job and passionate about making a difference
in workplaces to ensure all employees return home safely, APPLY NOW!
