The Role

The Lead Maintenance Engineer is responsible for leading a team of multidisciplinary reports to develop and plan maintenance to provide a safe reliable operating plant. Working together with the maintenance execution and production teams, this role ensures that the maintenance strategies are developed, reviewed, and planned safely and at optimal cost.

It is a residential role, you will work full time at our Kemerton site (located near Bunbury in the Southwest of Western Australia), and will be required to work Monday to Friday (standard business hours).

Key Responsibilities

  • Motivate your team to work safely, and respectfully of themselves and others. Lead the Reliability team to zero injuries and zero major incidents.
  • Plan and review the capability of teams and ensure sufficient resources are available to undertake workload. Provide recommendations for any changes to team structure or roles to support.
  • Identify opportunities to coach and reward individuals to develop an inclusive culture that values and encourages diversity of thought and promotes team over individual.
  • Set expectations, provide feedback, and hold people accountable for their actions and responsibilities in meeting those expectations.
  • Measure, monitor, track, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to ensure attainment of maintenance / reliability / planning objectives. Use KPI’s to set and achieve improvement objectives.
  • Provide technical support to maintenance Supervisor, specialist, and crafts on difficult equipment repair problems.
  • Provide Tier 2 troubleshooting support and recommendations to operating units on equipment reliability including emergency work reviews
  • Lead and participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis and execute corrective actions for complex and/or repetitive problems.
  • Lead and participate in the Bad Actor Program and create action plans for improving reliability
  • Assist in the training and development of in-house maintenance resources
  • Support the reliability processes to drive improvements, optimize costs, and improve Asset Effectiveness (Bad Actor Management, FMEA, RBI, RBM, RCM, Reliability Roadmap, etc)
  • Establish, monitor, and optimize Preventative Maintenance and Predictive Maintenance Plans
  • Responsible for  Review “equipment health condition monitoring “and take necessary actions.
  • Provide support with warehouse spares technical queries and all other inventory-related support.
  • Lead and support reduction of MTTR and maintenance process audits with precision maintenance.
  • Provide support with short term defect elimination.

About You

  • 5+ years extensive experience in a similar supervisory role, in addition to a minimum 10 years’ experience in reliability Maintenance Engineering

Education / Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Post graduate Certificate or Diploma in Management is highly desirable
  • Prior people management experience is preferred.
