About Digital @Ampol:

The Digital team designs, builds and operates most of Ampol's digital applications by following agile and engineering best practices. We have multiple agile squads comprising of product owners, business analysts, scrum masters, mobile, frontend, backend and quality engineers. The major applications we manage are Ampol app-Ampol's flagship mobile app and centre of our digital experience, energy-an exciting launch in Mar 2023 that officially made us an electricity retailer, ampcharge - another exciting launch where Ampol service stations now provide charging bays for electric vehicles, myAmpol-handling millions of dollars of fuel orders, cards-a fresh new application for Ampol cards management and a few other applications that makes customer's life easier.

As a Lead Mobile Developer within Ampol, you will contribute to our Digital strategy by designing, building, and nurturing mobile app features that are a bedrock for our digital customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure we provide delightful digital customer experiences
  • Collaborate with product teams, UX designers and other engineers on developing new features
  • Build and deliver mobile app features by writing clean, scalable and reliable code
  • Perform code reviews to maintain code quality, promote technical excellence and facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Provide production support including triage and resolution of incidents
  • Participate in estimation and feature planning activities
  • Work closely with solution architects, senior leads and engineering manager to contribute to design discussions and ensure adherence to design patterns, architecture principles and engineering best practices
  • Partner with delivery lead and business analysts to meet team milestones and deadlines
  • Take initiative within a cross functional agile team, proactively and continuously looking for opportunities to collaborate and accelerate team members and contribute to resolving the team's technical challenges

About you:

  • Proven experience working with iOS (swift) or Android (Kotlin) with a history of shipping successful consumer facing mobile applications
  • Proficiency in relevant (iOS or Android) SDKs, tools, and libraries
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to analyze and optimize code for performance and maintainability
  • Ability to communicate effectively , both verbally and in writing
  • Experience in requirements gathering, solution design and documentation to an appropriate level
  • A passion to stay updated on latest updates and trends in mobile platforms
  • A team player and a self starter who will contribute to the continuous improvement of the team's skills and practices
  • Advanced knowledge of best practices; including but not limited to: Mobile architecture, iOS/Android design guidelines, software development best practices, secure coding practices, and CI/CD methodologies
  • Have tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent industry experience
