Collectively we make the impossible possible.Recognised for delivering projects of global and national significance that help keep Australia safe, it is our shared passion that shapes our culture, and our people that make it a great place to work.About the OPPORTUNITYWe currently have a new opportunity for a Lead Reliability Engineer to work within our Maritime Business Unit based in Cairns, QLDThis role will see you responsible for analysing data and trends on equipment and systems, and for providing recommendations that assist in ensuring the effective operation of the equipment and systems until the Life of Type is reached.The incumbent will assist with specialist input to the design and development of solutions, and will be expected to provide leadership to small teams. The Lead Reliability Engineer will develop Reliability Engineering outputs in accordance with the approved BAE Systems Australia standard procedures and processes, and those collaboratively developed within the Enterprise.They will also ensure the outputs meet with the agreed operational needs of the customer and end-user. The role will ensure that best practice, definitive advice, analysis and evidence is provided to the ILS Manager. The position involves exercise of sound Reliability Engineering judgementYour new role:
  • Lead and perform Reliability, Availability and Maintainability (RAM) modelling and calculations for equipment and systems, as required Lead and perform the following activities for the project including:
  • Support strategy development, modelling and performance evaluation
  • Performance and/ or review of relevant Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) activities including:
  • Failure Modes Effects and Critical Analysis (FMECA)
  • Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) o Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA)
  • Level of Repair Analysis (LORA)
  • Conduct investigations and analyse data collected for an impression of equipment/ systems history and current condition
  • Support review of Enterprise Reliability Engineering capability asset
  • To do tasks and review and lead outcomes pertaining to the referred skills & attributes relevant to the program scope of product or service
  • Manage and conduct risk assessments on the equipment/ system being investigated
  • Draw conclusions and propose recommendations to improve equipment/ system reliability and supportability based on analysis and available evidence
  • Complete and deliver reporting documentation on time, to an agreed schedule
  • Make decisions within own sphere of responsibility and delegated authority
  • Provide day-to-day management of any assigned staff
  • Assist in the development of project infrastructure such as tools deployment, metrics collection and process development
About you:
  • Tertiary qualification - Diploma, formal trade or technical certificate qualification in Engineering and/ or equivalent industry experience (essential)
  • Formal training and certification in applicable Standards and/ or equivalent industry experience (highly desirable)
  • Strong understanding of the Principles of Reliability, Availability, Maintainability & Testability
  • Understanding of Support Policies and Standards, Reliability Centred Maintenance Quality Assurance, Support Solution Test & Validation, Support Safety Analysis · Asset Management
  • Experience in Engineering Development Lifecycle
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute and work in a cross-functional team while ensuring specific responsibilities are achieved
  • Experience in use of configuration and change management principles and tools
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations
