Job description

The Solutions – EMS / NMS Engineer is responsible for delivering EMS / NMS solutions right from Pre-Sales to commissioning, hand-over and support to customer, this includes solution development, design & testing documentation and deployment of Vendor Specific EMS / NMS platforms and applications.This role will involve closer working with vendors (technical) and customers both internal and external, ensuring that solutions are delivered on time, within budget and to the customer’s satisfaction.The role will be primarily based in Melbourne and will require some regional and interstate travel to other site offices and customer sites where regular progress meetings, workshops, installation activities, training and ongoing support will be required.The ideal candidate will be a team player, having strong customer service and communications skills, sound knowledge of, and an extensive experience working with, radio frequency equipment / technologies, experience working with a range of different environments and enjoy the experience of meeting and working with a wide cross-section of the community.The role will provide an opportunity to showcase your expertise and technical knowledge, to provide advice and solve difficult challenges.About You:Accountabilities

  • Delivering the EMS/NMS solutions delivery from right from Pre-Sales to commissioning, hand over and support to customer
  • Ensuring that solutions are delivered on time and to the customer’s satisfaction
  • Developing documentation and deployment EMS / NMS products as per customer’s specific/project/contract requirements
  • Development of customized solutions that meet the customer’s specific requirements
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of EMS / NMS products and keeping up-to-date with emerging trends in network management systems
  • Designing of overall architecture of EMS / NMS technical solutions and determining how the various components of the solution will integrate with each other
  • Selecting the appropriate technologies and software platforms for use in customer organizations and RFQ solutions
  • Providing technical expertise and assistance during the procurement process, including evaluating vendor proposals, and assisting with the selection of hardware and software
  • Conducting product analysis, selection and initial product verification to ensure that solutions meet customer needs and expectations
  • Ensuring that solutions are implemented and configured correctly and meet the customer’s EMS / NMS requirements
  • Deployment & testing of EMS/NMS products in accordance with project requirements
  • Participating in the development of project plans, estimates and RFQ’s and providing input on the technical resources and timeline requirements for projects
  • Providing technical guidance and assistance to our client’s team members during the development and testing phases
  • Developing and delivering technical training and guidance to Customers, setting technical standards and best practices
  • Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of EMS/NMS products and keeping up to date with emerging trends in network management systems
  • Assisting with the development and maintenance of technical documentation, such as system diagrams and user manuals
  • Strong customer-facing skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers and ensure their satisfaction
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and strategically to develop solutions to complex technical problems.
Essential
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (specialising in telecommunications) from a recognised University
  • Experience in a pre-sales technical support role, with a good understanding of the sales process and how to support the sales team
  • Experience in designing, configuring and deploying EMS / NMS systems of Packet networks in mining, infrastructure, transport, utilities and emergency services industries
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage teams of people
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships
  • Excellent technical writing, documentation, and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • A self-starter, highly motivated and team player with excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including sales, product, engineering, and customer support.
Desirable
  • In depth experience in one or more of following Cisco EMS / NMS products
  • Cisco EPNM
  • Cisco DNAC
  • Cisco ISE
  • Cisco Fire Power
  • Be familiar with TMN / eTOM framework and FCAPS, Service Provisioning and Assurance
  • Knowledge and experience on VMWare Virtualization Environment
  • Knowledge and experience on server infrastructure including SDDC, HCI, Storage(NAS / SAN), Backup Solutions
  • Knowledge and experience in Cisco IOS XR, XE and FX OS devices
  • 5 years+ experience in Pre-sales, Implementation and Support of Vendor Specific EMS / NMS platforms e.g. Nokia (Alcatel / Lucent), Cisco, Juniper, ADVA, Ceragon, Infinera, NSN
  • Experience in project management and leading medium sized technical teams, preferable in network engineering projects
  • A formal qualification (or equivalent experience) in a Project Management Methodology such as PMBOK or Prince2
  • Proficient with Project Management software.
