Job description

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Planning and Forecasting lead to analyse, investigate and forecast AV's operational demands in order to understand current performance and the constraints impeding the achievement of optimal performance and where applicable modify plans to enable an optimal position. This is a full time, permanent position working across both the South Melbourne and Blackburn offices, as required. Successful candidate will be able to commence from home in accordance with Ambulance Victoria's current hybrid working model. About the role

Reporting to the Director Operational Logistics, the responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to):

  • Develop demand forecasts based on roster schedules, leave projections and recruitment impacts and be responsible for assessing the operational resourcing implications,
  • Undertake analysis and develop operational strategies to ensure efficient utilisation of resources, identifying opportunities to improve the results,
  • Review and analyse data to modify forecasting when required, ensuring AV can met its demand obligations without compromising staff safety and financial constraints.
  • Analyse and assess trends across months, seasonal periods, days of week, times of day (Day, afternoon, night shifts) and establish strategies to better align supply and demand of the workforce.
  • Prepare weekly resource forecast projections across the state, outline key drivers and recommend actions to meet the optimal demand forecast and ensure costs are minimised
  • Identify and report when forecast and trends indicate issues that impact the safety of the operational workforce
About you

To be successful in this role you will have experience in resource demand management. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience and competency in data analysis and forecasting. The ability to extract and interrogate data, interpret the results and identify both current and future impacts is critical to the success of the role. Equally, the successful candidate will have the ability to use the information gathered to provide options and scenarios to determine optimal courses of action relevant to achieving organisational goals.

Individuals with strong skillsets in problem solving techniques and an ability to join and interconnect various sources of information to reach a strategic decision point, will be best positioned to succeed in this role.

Understanding and experience in rostering would be considered advantageous but is not essential.

The AV grade salary range for AV5 position is $124,681 - $147,392 plus 10.5% superannuation. Salary on commencement is offered at the base of the AV grade.
