The Role:
Carey is currently accepting applications for the role Leader of Learning – English.
As a valued member of the Carey community, the Leader of Learning – English provides dynamic leadership and support to the English team. This position is integral to the learning area leadership team, collaborating closely with other Leaders of Learning to uphold a cohesive, student-centred approach to education.
The Leader of Learning – English, actively promotes English throughout the community and foster a positive environment for students and staff.
This position includes a teaching load and commences at the start of the 2025 Academic Year for a tenure of 3 years.
The Average Day:
- Develop, implement, and review policy statements covering short- and long-term objectives for the learning area.
- Prepare and implement learning area goals aligning with School values and vision.
- Lead and facilitate the development of the English learning area including curriculum, assessment, and reporting.
- Analyse student data and support the implementation of appropriate interventions from internal and/or external stakeholders.
- Provide guidance to staff about professional learning and development.
- Foster a motivated and passionate team culture environment within the learning area.
- Promote the English learning area within the wider community.
The Person:
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching in English.
- Holds a broad vision of inclusive curriculum and an in depth understanding of relational practices.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to relate and influence people at all levels within the working community.
- Proven ability to lead, coach and develop others.
A valid Victorian Institute Teaching (VIT) registration is a requirement of employment in this position.
