We are seeking are seeking a Full Time Leading Firefighter to join our Downer Defence Team in Canungra. The Leading Firefighter is responsible for the provision of Rescue and Fire Fighting services with Base Service Area or Base in the region to the satisfaction of the requirements of the Defence EMOS Contract. You will be a member of the Range and Training Area Management Team tasked with providing safe and efficient services in a technically complex and high requirements safety environment.
Your day to day activities:
- Provide Watch Room Services
- Provide a Safe Workplace
- Provide Emergency Response to Incidents
- Coordinate and Control Emergency Evacuations of Buildings
- Participate in the ongoing training for the Base Fire Team
- Maintenance of Fire Plant and Equipment
- Work Health Safety
- Environmental Sustainability
- Quality Improvement
- Security Requirements
What you'll bring:
QUALIFICATIONS
- Have a current Medium Rigid Drivers Licence
- Fire Qualifications in Urban and Wildfire Response and Suppression
- Have Certificate IV Public Safety Firefighting Supervision
- Existing Defence Security Clearance or suitability for Defence security clearance (Australian Citizenship Mandatory)
EXPERIENCE
- Experience working in the Defence environment would be highly regarded
- A minimum of 48 months' experience as a Firefighter
- Computer literacy would be highly regarded
