West Coast Pallets is one of Perth’s leading manufacturers of pallets and crates, having successfully operated since 1996. We are located in Bibra Lake with 35 team members operating over 2 shifts from Monday to Friday. With a focus on Safety, Team Culture and Continuous Improvement we have a fantastic core of reliable, committed, and driven people on our team.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Leading Hand to oversee the workshop on Afternoon Shift. Keys to this role will be the current capability to Grow into supervisory positions and to engage with the entire West Coast Pallets team to enhance efficiency, productivity and safety culture. Working as part of the team, you will be responsible for the efficient running of the workshop.
You will be responsible for;
- Leading, coaching and overseeing a production team of approximately 15 team members
- Leading a strong safety culture
- Implement strategies to achieve and exceed the production output of the workshop
- Driving operational efficiencies and continuous improvement
- Leading from the front; a hands-on approach is required

You are a hands-on leader capable of rapidly building strong relationships with your team. A clear communicator, you are focused on ensuring that all team members understand their role and requirements at all times. You are dedicated to your role and aim to achieve excellence in all that you do.
To be successful in this position you:
- Have strong leadership skills capable of motivating, coaching and developing others
- Are capable of concurrently managing multiple workstreams
- Have a demonstrated understanding of and focus on safety culture
- Have previous experience in a manufacturing or warehousing environment
- Significant Forklift Operating experience
- Have a proven track record managing a workshop/manufacturing facility to drive increased output.
- Ability to focus and have a flexible approach when faced with change, competing priorities and work demands
- Experience working in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
