UGL’s Manufacturing & Maintenance business are searching for a high performing Section Leader /
Workshop Leading Hand to join their Locomotive & Heavy Mining Equipment (OHV) component overhaul team. This position will be offered as a permanent full-time opportunity with occasional overtime & weekend work as required.Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager, the purpose of this role is to provide leadership and manage the daily production requirements of a workshop section, to exceed UGL and the customers’ expectations of safety, quality and deliveries.The role has future career pathways into Production and Workshop Management.
About your roleAs the Section Leader /
Workshop Leading Hand, your role will provide high quality technical maintenance, repair and/or service and assists the Service Delivery Manager in the coordination of projects.
Key responsibilities will include:- Allocate tasks to team members
- Conduct high quality planned and corrective maintenance, repair and/or service
- Complete high quality defect investigation and repairs
- Keep the Service Delivery Manager properly informed of activities and task progress
- Develop documentation specific for work package (NCRs, EAR and Completion reports, SWMS, ITP’s, high risk permits) and maintain registers
About youYou will have extensive experience working in a similar leadership role, within a heavy industrial or workshop environment.
Skills & Experience:- Relevant Trade Qualification (Electrical preferred)
- Demonstrated Supervisory experience (essential)
- Solid rotating electrical equipment knowledge & thinking
- Supportive attitude regarding health, safety & quality
- Pride and high standards for maintenance in a workshop environment
- Excellent communication skills & willingness to learn, teach & mentor others
