Leading Hand Carpenter - High-End Residential

The Role
Our Clients are well renowned and established residential construction companies who have delivered some of Sydney's most awarded high-end residential and commercial projects over 15+ years.

They are looking for an experienced hands-on Leading Hand Carpenter to join their team to support on projects in north shore, eastern suburbs and inner west locations. Support and training, with good progression within the company offered.

Key Attributes

• Successfully deliver projects from pre-construction through to defect liability, handover and even ongoing maintenance
• This is a hands-on role where you will be both on the tools and overseeing a team of carpenters/ labourers on-site. A desire to want to still be on the tools is essential.
• You will have a passion for high quality building and craftsmanship and will partner daily with the Site Manager and Architects to resolve building design issues during construction.

Core Skill Requirements

• to have a minimum of 2 years experience in a Leading Hand position;
• Strong track record in architect designed residential construction;
• An understanding of construction detail resolution;
• Experience in doors, locks, windows, metalworks and finishing trades;
• Good knowledge of basic plumbing, mechanical and electrical services;
• Excellent attention to detail, quality and finish;
• Understanding of construction sequences;
• Ability to think through issues and resolve problems;
• Ability to communicate instructions to other team members or sub-trades;
• Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment;
• to be well presented, with strong time management skills, excellent attention to detail and willingness to learn and teach
• High degree of English proficiency;
• Works well both in a team and independently, always seeing tasks through to completion;
• to be available while site is open Monday to Saturday;
• Australian working rights.
