Job description

HEO7 $95,017 to $106,270 per annum plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation.

Full time, fixed term position for 22 months - available immediately.

Sitting within the Division of External Engagement which supports the growth and success of the University through the development of partnerships and delivery of programs that enhance reputation, grows revenue and creates change in communities, the Children’s University Adelaide (CU Adelaide) coordinates student outreach through extracurricular learning activities and volunteering opportunities in primary and secondary schools. It is also responsible for coordinating the development of new policies and practices which will assist the University in responding vigorously to Commonwealth Government policies on participation of disadvantaged students in higher education.

In this highly rewarding role, as the Learning and Support Coordinator, you will focus on the growth and transformation of existing CU centres and developing new ones within regional South Australia. You will have the opportunity to train validators within schools and other organisations and supervise and coordinate regional staff to support regional expansion. In addition, you will enjoy building strong relationships with local and regional partners who may play a key part in local CU development, support and sustainability and also assist schools with the initial set up of the CU Adelaide model.  

To be successful you will need: 

  • Demonstrated high-level organisational and administrative skills, diligence and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work to short timelines, to be flexible and to be able to prioritise competing demands.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral; ability to deliver presentations to a variety of audiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in management of people and projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in education in a school setting and/or working with primary/middle school children in an educational setting.
  • Commitment to collaborative and consultative styles of working and demonstrated ability to work cooperatively as directed, and as a member of a team.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office suite, in particular Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other online learning software/sources
  • Demonstrated ability to promote the organisational values of integrity, respect, collegiality, excellence and discovery, and a commitment to positively comply with the associated behaviour expectations. 
  • A current satisfactory National Police Certificate and a current driver’s licence is required
  • This position requires a valid Working with Children Check.
