Key responsibilities include:
- Working with students in 1-1, small group & classroom settings to support and improve their learning
- Assess, develop & deliver relevant programs that address a variety of learning differences and needs for Years 7-12 & following up with timely reports
- Co-ordinating with colleagues on team teaching & curriculum planning to deliver quality outcomes
- Adapting to a wide range of learning styles and needs and dealing with constant changes in routine
- Communicating regularly and effectively with colleagues, parents and external professionals
You will need:
- To be a NESA accredited High School teacher with qualifications in specialised/additional needs teaching
- Solid experience in teaching students in Years 7-12 with Learning Difficulties and disabilities such as Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder and hearing & sight impediments
- Sound and broad knowledge of current standardised literacy and numeracy assessments and the ability to administer and score them
- Understanding of applying for NCCD and other funding and writing related Individual Plans
- Understanding of or experience in applying for Disability Provisions for HSC
- Advanced ICT skills and a positive, collaborative "can do" attitude.
