Responsibilities:
As a Primary Learning Enhancement Assistant, you will have a multifaceted role that revolves around supporting students with identified learning needs. Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Collaborative Learning Support:
- Working closely with students with specific learning needs to facilitate their educational progress.
- Assisting teachers in delivering effective learning strategies tailored to the students requirements.
2. Team Collaboration:
- Being an integral part of a dedicated team that prioritises students overall well-being, behaviour, and personal development, ensuring these elements contribute to enhanced learning opportunities and life skills.
3.Classroom Assistance:
- Collaborating with the classroom teacher and Learning Enhancement Team to develop and implement students learning programs.
- Providing in-class support by assisting students in classroom activities and academic work.
- Supporting the teacher in administrative tasks related to the students.
4. Detailed Feedback:
- Maintaining a thorough record of your in-class support activities and providing comprehensive written feedback to the Coordinator of Learning Enhancement, including what was done, when, and for whom.
Experience and Skills:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:
- Demonstrated experience working with children in a primary school setting, ideally as a Teacher Aide.
- A profound understanding of appropriate and effective interactions when engaging with children.
- A keen interest in supporting literacy development.
- A minimum qualification of a Certificate of Education Support - Integration Aide/Teacher Aide or a Certificate III in Education Support.
- Familiarity with targeted intervention strategies and various learning programs.
- A strong sense of empathy, coupled with a warm and welcoming demeanour to establish a positive rapport with students.
- Experience in evidence-based intervention methods is highly desirable, showcasing your commitment to effective educational support.
