About this Opportunity
Loreto College is seeking a highly motivated part-time, term-time, school officer to join the team. Term Time will include academic term time plus one week prior to the commencement of students' Term 1 and one week following the end of Term 4. This position is remunerated at Level 3 of the School Officer Collective Agreement. This position will commence on Monday 22 April 2024.
Reporting to the Learning Enrichment Coordinator, the Assistant will be responsible for:
- Providing in class support across all year levels, either individually or in groups
- Providing practical assistance to the Learning Enrichment Coordinator in delivery of the teaching and learning needs of students
- Supporting students in relation to their physical needs where some discretion and judgement are involved
- Assisting students with their organisation and developmental skills
- Creating visual aids to assist students in their understandings of tasks
- Assisting teachers in preparing, implementing, and supervising learning activities
- Other duties as requested by the Principal, Director of Finance and Business Operations and/or other College Leadership Team members.
About you
The successful candidate will possess the following characteristics:
- Have a commitment to and understanding of the ethos and traditions of Catholic education
- Demonstrated excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
- Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience within a secondary school is desirable
- Demonstrated understanding of the College’s Student Protection Policy and processes
- A valid Working with Children Check Positive Paid Employee Notice (BlueCard)
