The Country University Centre Macleay Valley (CUCMV) is a dedicated student learning space designed for regional students, especially those completing part (or all) of their studies online. Our students have free access to high-speed Internet, modern technology, and general academic and wellness support all delivered in their local CUC. Regional and rural communities deserve quality opportunities to pursue their dreams without the need to relocate. Our mission is to provide regional people with the space and tools they need to create a vibrant and more prosperous future for themselves and their wider community.
Qualifications & experience
- A completed university degree, ideally in Education or other related fields. Applicants currently working towards a degree in Education or related fields will also be considered.
- Experience in training or student wellbeing and support
- Working With Children Check, or willingness to seek one
- Desirable: Experience working with universities or TAFE
Tasks & responsibilities
- One-on-one academic mentoring in referencing skills, writing, and assessment skills, study skills, wellness skills, and other assistance
- Delivery of group sessions in the above areas, where appropriate
- Cooperating with, and an understanding of university/tertiary student support systems and networks as required.
- Contribute to the engagement, self-efficacy, well-being, and retention of new students both during their transition to study and throughout their program of studies.
- Monitor, track and report on the success of programs and training delivered
- Provide Centre Manager with clear and timely information to enable proactive management of the Centre.
