In collaboration with key personnel, and as an integral part of the academic team, each Lecturer is responsible for developing teaching resources to support effectiveness in learning and assessment; managing all aspects of the learning environment and providing a range of academic support services to ensure that students achieve expected unit and course learning outcomes.

- Provide excellence in teaching and assessment practices for the benefit of all students
- Plan, prepare and deliver educational activities that facilitate active learning experiences and student engagement
- Assure learning, by developing and administering assessment tasks that are valid, reliable and fair and take into consideration the needs and learning abilities of students
- Encourage, monitor and evaluate the progression of individual students and assist with the academic counselling and referral to support services as required
- Update all necessary student records accurately and completely in liaison with administrative staff
- Participate in academic staff meetings and continuing professional development programs and provide advice and guidance to colleagues within areas of specialist expertise
- Actively maintain and share professional knowledge and expertise through a program of relevant research and scholarly activity and industry practice to maintain a nexus between scholarship and the processes of learning and teaching at CHIE.
- Adhere to established policies and procedures and relevant quality and safety standards
- Carry out administrative duties relating to the role of a Lecturer as required
- Participate in promotional activities as directed by the Management of CIHE.
Academic and Professional Standing
- Demonstrated level of experience at any level in an Early Childhood Education setting (at least two years)
- A demonstrated program of academic research with evidence of publication and/or publication potential
- Demonstrated record of higher education teaching, curriculum development and assessment experience
- Knowledge of professional and industry issues and trends in Early Childhood Education
Qualifications
- Higher degree at Master's level and/or preferably at Doctorate level
