About the Role We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified and enthusiastic individual to join our dynamic department as Lecturer in Computing Technologies. As a key member of our academic team, you will be expected to prepare and deliver lectures, tutorials, and workshops and to assess students in the relevant discipline both on campus and online. This includes developing and supporting academic programs and working with the academic team in the development of program change and innovation. As part of your responsibilities, you will also provide mentorship and guidance to students on academic matters and may also supervise honours, masters, and PhD students. This position would require a suitable candidate to also contribute to the department’s and school’s research output, income, and overall impact. You will assume administrative tasks associated with normal teaching duties and will also contribute to Department and School management and administration generally. Beyond the classroom, your influence will extend to participating in activities that foster and build further on existing links with government, industry, communities, and professions in Australia and internationally.This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic academic to be a part of a team that delivers high quality personalised education and fosters a strong research culture that includes international collaboration, competitive grants, and high-quality publications.About You To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
Demonstrated ability to undertake teaching, associated administrative duties, coordination, and curriculum development at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Demonstrated commitment to leading edge/best practice education, including blended learning formats, online teaching and the use of case studies, role-plays and/or simulations in the learning environment.
Demonstrated commitment to research in the university context, a capacity in the use of a variety of research methods and a track record of publishing in discipline relevant quality academic journals.
High level of oral and written communication skills in dealing with students, university staff and contacts in the outside industry environment.
Demonstrated ability to work productively and cooperatively with others in a team environment and an ability to manage the teaching team.
Qualifications
An earned doctoral qualification in the relevant discipline or a related field (Essential).
A teaching qualification (Preferable).
Membership of an appropriate professional body (Preferable).
