What you can accomplish in the role of Lecturer, Information Technology
 
The Lecturer, Information Technology will teach into Information Technology programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels across multiple delivery modes and contribute to curriculum development and the coordination of Information Technology programs. In addition to this, the Lecturer, Information Technology, will also provide administrative, marketing and outreach support for the Information Technology academic group, College of Science and Engineering and the university.
 
The Lecturer, Information Technology will have both recent teaching experience and an established research track record that complements the College of Science and Engineering’s strategic commitment to digital innovation through undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Information Technology, Computer Science, and Data Science, as well the intended application thereof to Marine Science, Agriculture/ Aquaculture, Geoscience, Health, and Business domains. A capacity to engage effectively with local, national, and international industry and to identify and develop opportunities for innovation-driven partnerships is also inherent to the position.
 
The Information Technology group, College of Science and Engineering is actively developing interdisciplinary collaborations and is committed to building strengths in AI and machine learning, data mining and data science, digital health, secure communication and privacy, sentiment analysis and text mining, deep learning, cybersecurity, cloud computing, digital support for net-zero emissions, sustainable tourism, and biosecurity. JCU is a SAGE Athena SWAN member and we are committed to creating an inclusive workplace.
