Creating a brighter future for life in the Tropics and beyond, through education and research that makes a difference locally, and globally, James Cook University (JCU) is now looking to appoint a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer, Pathology. This is a part time, fixed-term opportunity and can is based at the JCU Cairns Nguma-bada Campus and Cairns Clinical School.
How you’ll make a difference
Working collaboratively with academic staff in Cairns, as well as Townsville based staff in Anatomy and Pathology, you will contribute to curriculum development, teaching and assessment of Pathology for medical students in year 4 of the MBBS program. This entails delivering Keepad interactive teaching sessions in Pathology to Year 4 students following each system-based learning session. Additionally, the role involves participation in assessment and exams, as well as collaboration with other academic staff to address individual student performance.
What you’ll bring
Ideally you will have completed Post graduate qualifications in medicine, medical sciences or education and be eligible for registration as a medical practitioner within Australia. Demonstrating substantial clinical expertise in pathology, you have a proven track record of teaching and assessment at the undergraduate level. Your exceptional written and oral communication skills enable you to thrive in a multi-disciplinary environment, and you understand the challenges relevant to delivering academic and clinical services in rural and regional areas.
