Bravus is a diversified group of Australian businesses delivering integrated energy and infrastructure services for the future.
We produce high-quality thermal coal for export at the Carmichael mine and renewable energy from the Rugby Run solar farm, both in central Queensland. Our Bowen Rail Company, Abbot Point Operations and North Queensland Export Terminal businesses transport high-quality coal from Queensland’s Bowen and Galilee basins to the world.
Position Purpose
This position is responsible for assisting with the maintenance of the mining and rail GIS database to ensure that geographical data is well maintained, secured, validated, and presented on a platform to the entire Bravus organization. The position will assist with the delivery of all aspects of spatial data collection, collation, validation, presentation, and management. Providing support to the operational teams to deliver and manage the Geographical Information System.
Key Accountabilities
- Implement the GIS Platform as a functioning tool to support operational requirements
- Process spatial data
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders for data collection and management of the GIS
- Manage spatial data tracking and analysis
- Design, produce, and revise maps and figures using GIS software (ESRI Suite)
- Design, produce, and revise forms within GIS-related software with stakeholder input (ESRI Suite and GeoCortex)
- Develop mapping and spatial files from the GIS database as requested by internal and external stakeholders
- Capture and track disturbance footprints for compliance and reporting
- Maintain existing Permit to Disturb application via ESRI software
- Provide other spatial support as required including management of LiDAR data, Imagery and dynamic DEM
- Provide training and assistance with the internal software to users as required.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Necessary:
- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline e.g. Environmental Science, Spatial Science, or equivalent
- A minimum 2 years of spatial industry experience
Desired:
- Demonstrated experience in developing and operating GIS Software such as Arc GIS
- 5 years of relevant industry experience
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
- Proven ability to establish relationships with team members and an established external network
- Ability to motivate people to achieve an outstanding environmental outcome
