Do you want to give back to your industry by training the next generation?  Apply now to be a Lecturer Surveying at North Metro TAFE. We have full-time and casual opportunities available for immediate filling.

No prior lecturing experience or training qualifications required. We are looking for people who have current industry knowledge and experience, and would enjoy sharing their expertise to equip those aspiring to enter that industry. We’ll help you with the rest and even provide support and assistance for obtaining your Training and Assessment qualification.

We are establishing an open pool for vacancies that arise up to 31 December 2024. We may offer permanent or fixed term, full time, part time or casual appointments, with the possibility of a further term and/or permanency.

About the role
We are currently seeking candidates with experience and expertise in Surveying to plan, develop and deliver training and assessment to students in this study area. 

The lecturer’s primary role is to teach, facilitate learning, assess and mentor students in accordance with relevant curriculum and/or training package requirements.  Lecturers also undertake Professional Activities and Activities Related to Delivery.  In order to maintain quality educational services, lecturers are required to keep abreast of technological and other developments in their field through professional development to provide up-to-date information and advice to the College and industry, where appropriate.

Relevant Qualification and Experience
To be eligible for employment you must hold a qualification in Surveying or Mine Surveying. We also require that you have experience in the Surveying industry, Experience in Mine surveying will be highly regarded.

NMTAFE prefers lecturers to hold the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40116, or TAE40110 and the additional skill sets referred to in Schedule 1, Item 2 of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015.  You are still eligible to apply if you do not yet hold these credentials. NMTAFE can support staff to complete the qualification.

  • Appointments may be made from this pool until 31 December 2024.

Eligibility for employment is subject to you obtaining a satisfactory Department of Education Criminal Clearance and, if this position involves contact with children, a Working with Children (WWC) Card.

To be eligible for appointment you must have a working visa (for fixed term contract appointments) or permanent residency (for permanent appointments).
