- Full-time and three years fixed term
- Based at the Townsville, Bebegu Yumba campus, Douglas
- Academic Level B: $103,238 - $121,815 or Academic Level C $125,527 - $144,104 per annum
- UniSuper employer superannuation contributions of 17%
- Level of appointment and remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience
The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer will be an enthusiastic Earth Scientist with both experience and ambition to develop and deliver teaching and strategic, world-class research programs in Economic Geology/Geology, with a particularly strong interest in emerging critical minerals and geology of northern Australia. The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer will be expected to collaborate with, and participate in research projects as part of the Economic Geology Research Centre (EGRU).
Capacity to develop effective interdisciplinary collaborations, industry and government engagement and international partnerships with other universities, along with the capacity and demonstrated ability to lead academic development and management of key analytical instrumentation, are also inherent to the position.

- A completion of a PhD or equivalent in Economic Geology or Geology.
- Expertise in Economic Geology and critical minerals research.
- Demonstrated experience in research, relative to career standing, through publications in high-quality journals/conferences and in attracting research grants and competitive research funding.
- Teaching experience in earth science, with an ability to teach subjects in economic and field geology.
