• Prepare documents for payments out of Court to persons who have reached the age of majority, in accordance with Court orders and legislation, including drafting Court orders and statutory declarations.
• Oversee and liaise with persons with funds held in Court and their families regarding capacity to manage funds; make recommendations based on an assessment of potential capacity and from a range of accepted options.
• Prepare simple orders, deed, memoranda and correspondence as directed by Senior Legal Officers.
• Maintain legal precedents and information as directed by Senior Legal Officers.
• Use leadership and expertise to effectively address stakeholder issues and exercise good judgement to make timely and well-informed decisions.
• Other support duties as directed by the Manager, Legal Services
About the role
The Legal Administrative Officer is responsible for providing administrative support to the Legal Services Area of the Funds in Court Office. In particular the role will be responsible for the payment out at 18 process.
The role is part of the Legal Administration Team reporting to the Legal Services Manager.
About you
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications and/or substantial administration experience would be highly regarded.
- Demonstrable experience in a similar role.
- Knowledge of Disability Services would be highly regarded.
