The Legal Counsel - Group Corporate exists to provide comprehensive legal support to the daily operations of Crown Resorts, supporting a wide range of stakeholders across our properties in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth. You'll assist in policy development and staff training, engage with external Legal Counsel when necessary and offer timely and practical legal advice spanning a wide range of areas, including intellectual property, contracts, hospitality operations, marketing, and compliance with regulatory requirements.Reporting to the General Counsel - Group Corporate, you'll be involved in key projects and intellectual property portfolio management, as well as providing support to material matters including litigation, regulatory, corporate transactions and other areas across each of the property-based Legal teams.This role is a 12-month fixed-term contract and can be based in Sydney or Melbourne.Some of your day-to-day will include:
- Advising on M&A and corporate transactions
- Supporting litigation and regulatory matters
- Contributing to the drafting and negotiation of various commercial agreements, intellectual property management and procurement support
- Advising on compliance with Australian Consumer Law
- Ensuring advertising, marketing and promotional activities adhere to regulatory standards and statutory obligations
- Creating and maintaining legal precedents
- Assisting in the development of policies, procedures and training of staff on relevant legal issues
- Establishing ongoing networks and relationships with relevant authorities and stakeholders
- Promoting a culture of compliance across Crown regarding legislative, contractual and other obligations
- Minimum 3 - 4 years' post qualification experience, with relevant in-house or law firm experience
- Experience in drafting and advising on a range of contractual and commercial matters
- A relevant Law degree such as a Juris Doctor or Bachelor of Law from an accredited institution
- Admitted to practice as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria or NSW
- Deep understanding of the relevant legal areas, including contract law, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and litigation
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex legal issues, identifying risks, and formulating effective solutions
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure that contracts, documents, and compliance requirements are error-free
- Has or is able to obtain all required Casino Employee Licenses
