Legal Counsel

The Role Our client is a leading global business in the software industry focussed on sustainability and innovative digital transformation. There is an opportunity available for a Legal Counsel to join their global legal team on a 9 month fixed term contract.

As part of their established legal team, you will provide professional and timely advice to internal stakeholders, including sales, operations, finance, and HR.

Additionally, you will actively participate in negotiations with the company's partners and customers, covering the Pacific region.

Responsibilities

• Offer legal advisory and support to safeguard the interests of our business operations in the Pacific Region on all legal and compliance matters.
• Provide cross-functional and multi-disciplinary legal support and advice, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and Group Legal guidelines.
• Advise, review, draft, and negotiate commercial and software licensing agreements, as well as other in-bound commercial agreements.
• Liaise with external Legal Counsels and relevant authorities on specific legal matters.
• Communicate across functions and actively participate in spreading knowledge and awareness of legal commitments and initiatives throughout the business.

About You

• Several years experience as a qualified lawyer with a background in a top-tier law firm or relevant in-house experience.
• Experience in the global IT/software industry or complex energy/resources/industrial business.
• Excellent contract negotiation and drafting skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
