About the Role
We have an immediate opportunity for an experienced Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinator to join the close-knit Hyland House team based in Petrie. Hyland House offers a range of services including centre-based day respite and a diverse range of day programs, activities, social groups and social outings. In this busy and rewarding role you can expect the following duties and responsibilities:
- Planning, implementing and facilitating activities to ensure they align with individual support plans and the needs of each member
- Assisting the daily operations of the centre including transport requirements, meals and personal care where required
- Provide guidance to support staff, volunteers and students relating to client participation and the application of appropriate activities, mobility and transfer techniques
- Collaborate with the team to provide a welcoming and warm environment for all members aligned with the Eden Philosophy
Our Leisure and Lifestyle Coordinators are typically outgoing, positive and the most enthusiastic person in the room! You will enjoy building professional relationships with a wide range of stakeholders and working with clients to achieve the goals set out in their care plans. In addition, we are seeking the following skills and experience:
- Certificate III or IV Lifestyle and Health or equivalent Certificate and experience
- Experience in a similar role where you have planned, implemented and evaluated individual, or group activities aligned to support plans
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills enabling you to provide quality customer service and set and maintain professional standards
- Prior experience working with people who are frail including those who have a disability including an understanding of the therapeutic, social, physical, emotional, and cultural issues that impact upon them
- Understanding of the Aged Care Standards and NDIS in relation to your role
- A current driver's licence with the ability to drive clients and carers in the community
