Your role
We are currently seeking motivated members for our Leisure and Lifestyle Team. As part of the team you will contribute to the quality of life of individuals in The community as part of the CHSP (Community Home Support Program) by assisting with the provision of effective person centered social programs and holistic lifestyle activities and therapies.
- Support Diversional Therapy Manager that may include co-facilitating groups, preparing daily activities, stock and kitchen rotation within the program, some cleaning and laundry work.
- Consult with Care recipients and families to ensure a comprehensive person centric understanding of the individual, their requirements and interests are respected and included in activities.
- Conduct specialised therapy and activities to meet individual need.
- Facilitate and plan social, lifestyle and recreational activities - both individual and group and complete all required documentation and care planning
- Client pick ups and transports
Qualifications
- Certificate IV Leisure and Lifestyle - or equivalent - essential - or willing to obtain
- Manual LR licence
- Current First Aid Certificate - desirable
- Dementia experience - desirable
Your skills & experience
- Previous experience and a comprehensive understanding of Leisure and Lifestyle programming requirements within aged care
- Demonstrated understanding of Work Health and Safety and work practices within Diversional Therapy services
- Demonstrated self-initiative and motivation, with the ability to work independently and as a member of a multi-faceted team
- Excellent ability to prioritise a range of tasks, manage time effectively and balance competing deadlines in a busy environment
- Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills with the ability to communicate (both written and verbal) with internal and external clients
- Demonstrated commitment to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgement in managing sensitive information
- Microsoft Office skills
