The Senior Consultant, Management Solutions role offers an exciting opportunity to provide expert advice and assistance to councils across NSW on a range of human resources functions, including the recruitment and performance management of executive and senior staff. You will also participate in significant projects such as organisational reviews and the coordination of the annual remuneration and HR Benchmarking workforce diagnostics programs.

Local Government NSW (LGNSW) is the peak body for councils and related organisations in our State. LGNSW advocates on behalf of members and their communities on policy to decision makers at state and federal levels. We also provide a comprehensive range of services including industrial relations representation, management services and training.
About the role
The Senior Consultant will play an integral role in managing end-to-end recruitment services, facilitating and negotiating performance reviews, and promoting Local Government Management Solutions. Key responsibilities also include assisting in the development and implementation of business and project plans, consulting with councils on service offerings, and achieving revenue targets. You will additionally maintain recruitment and performance management documentation, advise on remuneration packages, review organisational structures, coordinate workforce diagnostics, assist in the management of the Remote Skills Contractor service, and participate in various projects.

About you
You will have extensive HR experience, particularly in recruitment and performance management, strong consulting and communication skills, and the ability to build professional relationships within political environments. Your strengths will be your ability to be influential and persuasive at a senior level with a demonstrated commitment to providing excellence in customer service.
Essential Requirements
- Broad HR Generalist and/or OD experience including executive recruitment at senior staff level.
- Experience in the facilitation and mediation of executive staff performance management reviews.
- Proven experience in the writing of reports, making presentations and strategic planning and project management skills.
- An ability to review organisational structures.
- Ability to multi-task and deliver projects on time and to budget.
- An ability to network and negotiate across all levels of local government and build relationships with a broad range of councils.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in HR and a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel within NSW at short notice with a valid NSW C class driver’s licence (regular short stay Regional and Rural work is a requirement of the role).
