We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our amazing team as a Liaison Librarian.Full-time: 36.25 hours per weekFixed term appointment to December 2025Based at the Townsville Bebegu Yumba campusHEWL 6: $83,115 - $90,022 per annum plus up to 17% superannuation.ABOUT THE ROLEThis is an opportunity to provide high-quality library liaison services and deliver digital and information literacy programs that enrich the learning, teaching, and research objectives of the University. You will actively contribute to scholarly communications and research, collection development, open education, and promotion of JCU’s library services, with a focus on enhancing the library experience for our clients. Additionally, you'll develop and nurture strong working relationships as you collaborate with University stakeholders to design and develop online and interactive open education resources using adaptive technologies that engage and enhance student digital literacy skills.KEY REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESSTo excel in this role, you should possess a degree qualification in a library or information-related discipline, coupled with relevant experience in a similar role. You’ll bring proven expertise in library consultation services, along with the ability to design and deliver information literacy programs. Demonstrated experience in developing educational resources in an online-first environment as a critical, evidence based, and reflective practitioner will set you apart. Sound knowledge in an academic discipline and/or experience providing library services including teaching and research support for academic disciplines will be highly valued. Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and administrative skills, along with highly effective communication, interpersonal, training and presentation skills will also be essential to navigate and succeed in this dynamic environment. Additionally, you should be eligible for Associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA).WHY JCU?
