The Library Systems Specialist is part of the Library Technology & Support Team and is responsible for providing high level technical support and advice to end users of the Library Management System and other library technologies, as well as analysing and implementing new technologies to the library environment to enhance our service delivery. The ideal candidate for this role will combine strong IT support skills and a good understanding of library technologies, with the ability to develop complex reports to meet business needs. Strong project management skills, the ability to build relationships and effectively manage a range of stakeholders, will be key to success in this role. This position is required to provide quality customer service and create value for the community. Key activities of this role include: Manage the Library Management System, RFID infrastructure and other technologies within the Library; including periodic review of systems Investigate and recommend new technologies, provide budget forecasts for recommendations Contribute to the Development and implementation of the Library Strategic Plan, Collection Development Plan and other relevant plans, reports and documentation Essential Criteria: Degree qualification in an Information Technology discipline OR Library and Information Science OR demonstrated solid contemporary experience in a similar role, combined with ongoing professional development Current Class C Driver’s Licence Demonstrated experience in the use of technology within libraries or similar fields Experience in managing enterprise business systems, for example Library Management Systems, including vendor relationship management Demonstrated proficiency in providing technical expertise, coaching/training and advice to relevant staff to allow them to effectively undertake their responsibilities and duties Demonstrated ability to build strong, credible relationships and influence, persuade or negotiate outcomes that are of benefit or add value, to all or part of the organisation Proven ability to assess, interpret and judge information or situations, and formulate recommendations, provide specialist advice or deliver a service, based on the findings Demonstrated understanding of SQL (Standard Query Language) reporting tools, such as Crystal Reports Designer, to develop complex reports to meet business needs About Us: We are a large organisation delivering a wide variety of services to our local community; You’ll be joining a team of IT and library professionals who excel at what they do; We offer a supportive work environment with opportunities for career development; We provide opportunities to collaborate with subject matter experts from a variety of areas across the organisation; We offer an attractive range of benefits to our employees. This role provides a salary range of between $82.9k to $99.5k per annum + 11% superannuation. A 9 day fortnight work-cycle currently applies to this role with flexible/hybrid working arrangements available.
