This process seeks to engage a B2 Avionics LAME to conduct maintenance on Airbus H145 Helicopters and associated specialised mission systems and equipment.
POSITION OBJECTIVE
This position contributes to the effective and efficient operation of the Police Air Wing, by ensuring the airworthiness and maintenance of Police Air Wing aircraft, mission role equipment and associated technical records.
SPECIALIST PRE-REQUISITE
It is a requirement that the position holder is successful in obtaining and maintaining a BASELINE VETTING security clearance for the duration of their appointment in the position. Only Australian Citizens are eligible to hold and maintain the BASELINE VETTING security clearance. Any applicants who are currently not an Australian Citizen must be aware that this is an essential requirement to fulfil this position (please refer to the attached position description). Whilst there is nothing to preclude applicants from applying for the position if they have not yet been granted Australian Citizenship, applicants who are successful should be aware that they cannot be appointed unless they are in the process of applying for Australian Citizenship and are eligible to become an Australian Citizen prior to appointment.

Applicants are asked to address the following nominated work related requirement in no more than one (1) page:

  • Analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills - Researching, analysing, problem solving, making decisions, reviewing and evaluating technical issues.
and provide proof of possession of the following document:
  • Possession of a Commonwealth of Australia CASR Part 66 B2 Avionics Engineering License with helicopter Type Rating
Applicants are also required to submit a comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV). Your CV should provide enough detail (dot points are sufficient) to allow the selection panel to assess your skills, experience and qualifications relevant to the Key Accountabilities of the attached Position Description Form.
The CV must also include the names and contact details of two (2) referees who can comment on the applicant’s ability to satisfy all of the Essential Work Related Requirements. Applicants should nominate at least one immediate (most contemporary) supervisor/manager unless exceptional circumstances exist.
Please note: For applicants deemed suitable, all Essential Work Related Requirements listed in the Position Description Form will be assessed at some stage during the selection process.
OTHER CONDITIONS
Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies throughout the division. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position, then the panel may select another suitable applicant from this selection process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from the initial date of the appointment.
Integrity and criminal checks will be conducted if the recommended applicant for a position is not a current WA Police Force employee. Any relocation costs associated with appointment to these positions may be the responsibility of the successful applicants.
