Your new role
The Licensing and Transport Subsidy Scheme Officer is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the Northern Territory Transport Subsidy Scheme (NTTSS), Lift Incentive Scheme (LIS) and online rideshare and commercial vehicle licence renewal system throughout the Northern Territory in accordance with the Department policies and procedures.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Apply NTTSS and LIS policy to ensure integrity of the Schemes, including the administration of the NTTSS electronic smartcard system
- Ensure integrity of the work unit's online application and payment system
- Investigate and determine a person's eligibility to receive a subsidy under the Schemes, and audit transactions to identify potential misuse
- Provide a front-line service to the public and Scheme members on information relating to the Schemes and licensing
- Maintain records and systems relevant to the Schemes, including applications, membership, payments and invoicing
- Provide written advice to the public, Scheme members and medical professionals, on outcomes relating to applications, enquiries and reviews
What you'll need to succeed
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with service providers, agency staff and members of the public of varied backgrounds
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, as well as independently
- Provide high level customer service with general administrative experience,
- Undertake research tasks, compile clear concise reports, and demonstrated proficiency with using Microsoft computer applications
- Manage confidential information, display problem-solving and negotiation skills, make timely decisions to achieve outcomes and demonstrate patience, objectivity and fairness
- Proven ability to produce accurate reports, including experience in managing financial processes
- Understanding of Work Health and Safety matters as they apply to a workplace, or the ability to acquire knowledge within a short time
- Resilience in the face of challenging situations and ability to maintain a positive attitude at all times
What you'll get in return
This role is an AO3 designation. Salary range is between $64,773 - $69,746 + super, pa.
This role is a fixed term contract until January 2024, with the strong possibility to extend.
