We are seeking an experienced Life Scientist. He/She should have an experience in research on shoulder surgery, biomechanics, and technique development. The Life Scientist should be well versed in the application of novel research to provide efficient and effective solutions for use in clinical applications.
This is an excellent opportunity to connect research and commercialisation, with the ability to see the output of the work first-hand.
Objectives and Responsibilities
- Work in a fast-paced start-up environment
- Design and conduct experiments, making observations and measurements, researching information, analysing data, preparing or supervising the preparation of laboratory reports and scientific papers, presenting findings at scientific meetings and conferences, and supervising the work of staff
- Develop, implement, supervise, collate, and publish high-quality research in shoulder surgery, by combining clinical knowledge and experience with technology
- Develop, implement, and test safe novel systems and processes for monitoring patient outcomes
- Coordinate multi-centric, multi-national, biomechanical, and clinical Orthopaedic research
- Produce solutions which are implemented into real-world health environments
- Maintain high ethical standards, and exercise discernment and judgement in everyday conduct
- Apply experience in commercialising research activities for real-world benefit
- Communicate, develop, manage and mitigate commercial objectives of the company with collaboration from team
- At least 2 years of demonstrated experience in orthopaedics (Board-certified Orthopaedic qualifications preferred)
- Thorough knowledge in advanced arthroscopy and arthroplasty techniques (Subspecialised fellowship training preferred)
- At least 2 years of demonstrated academic experience, evidenced by publications of high-quality research
- At least 2 years of demonstrated experience in data management to provide structure for research development and production of high-quality research outputs on orthopaedics for publication
- At least 2 years of demonstrated experience in biomechanical laboratory testing to produce biomechanical research in orthopaedics
- At least 2 years of demonstrated experience in use medical CAD software such as Mimics Materialise for image segmentation
- Experience with the use of mixed reality technology in orthopaedics
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
