Role

Light weight steel frame Detailer, responsible for providing cost effective technically accurate design documentation for light gauge steel frame structures in both the residential and light commercial sectors. Identifying inconsistencies and errors between architectural, structural designs and specifications notifying relevant staff and providing alternative design options so they are remedied prior to estimating, production and construction.

Ability to confidently and effectively communicate with a number of stakeholders is required.

Key Skills and Competencies:

• Strong practical knowledge and experience of building construction and processes relating to walls, floor joists and roof truss framing
• Ability to work thru and resolve technical detailing, fabrication and site installation problems
• 3D visualisation ability critical to problem solving
• Attention to detail and coordination of services
• Framing detailing software experience with Scottsdale (pre-requisite) and Enduroframe (preferred but not critical)
• Knowledge of Basic Building Codes and Standards
• Commercial acumen and impacts to SOW during detailing
• Site erection knowledge and understanding “how it will be installed”
• High level written and verbal communication skills
• Organizational skills for keeping track of past, current and upcoming project
• Excellent time management skills
• Required to visit sites on accation for reliable and accurate site measure or co-ordination

Experience

Building and Construction

• Drafting discipline Architectural / Structural with design construction knowledge
• Working on building sites,site supervisory role experience will be beneficial
• Carpenter (Cert III) would be beneficial
• Assisting estimating projects
• List any and all experience with any software packages relating to construction or drafting e.g. AutoCad, Revit, Tekla, or similar.
• Above average IT literacy. Above average level ability using of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
