Address- Build and deploy Linux & Database environments in an AWS cloud setting.
- Support and maintain client applications running in AWS.
- Manage in-house servers with Redhat deployments.
- Administer supported databases.
- Collaborate with project managers to outline activities and estimates for environment builds.
- Demonstrate strong skills in administering Linux variants, predominantly RHEL/OEL.
- Show proficiency in administering databases like Progress or PostgreSQL.
- Excel in scripting languages, with strong skills in at least two (Shell, Python, Perl).
- Administer AWS resources effectively.
- Have a basic understanding of Java/JBoss administration.
- Review and comment on hardware configurations for server purchases.
- Continuously improve your technical skills.
- Manage your time efficiently to meet project deadlines, and communicate promptly if timeframes are at risk.
- Provide input into high-level designs and project planning, suggesting alternative implementations when necessary.
Essential
- Tertiary qualifications in IT or Engineering, or comparable industry certification.
- Strong knowledge of Redhat systems administration.
- Proficiency in Postgres/Aurora or Progress DBA.
- Solid networking knowledge.
- Demonstrated scripting skills (Shell, Python, Perl).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team and mentor other administrators/SEs.
- Flexibility to work A/H, shifts & on-call according to roster (attractive allowances).
