Jim Murphy's is Canberra's largest independently owned Liquor Store. We are 100% family owned, and have been since we opened in 1978. Our aim is to provide an experience to our customers that is second to none. This is achieved through friendly and knowledgeable staff who pay close attention to the finer details. The successful applicant will be well presented, and more than happy to proactively approach customers. They may not know much about the liquor industry, but will have an open mind and be excited to learn. They will agree that hard work pays off, and that together we can work as a team to achieve our goal of presenting Canberra's best Liquor Store.
Successful applicants
- Will possess an RSA Certificate that is valid in the ACT
- Will have previous experience in Liquor Stores, the hospitality industry or a face to face customer service role
- Will need to be able to work on your feet for extended periods of time
- Will to be punctual, energetic and willing to have a go!
Tasks & responsibilities
- Work autonomously in a fast paced environment
- Engage with customers and assist them to the best of your abilities
- Possess a good phone manner
- Be able to confidently and competently use point of sale equipment (registers)
- General store upkeep duties (cleaning)
- Confidently manage physical tasks such as manual handling of stock and other general tasks you would expect to come across in a busy retail Liquor Store. Cases of wine can weigh up to 16kg
