Job description

We are thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for an organised, committed and enthusiastic individual to join our passionate Contour MedPrep team as a Live UCAT Mock Invigilator; forming a pivotal role in our rapidly growing UCAT course.
At Contour, we want the best possible experience for our students, and we pride ourselves in always providing a comprehensive UCAT tutoring service that stands out distinctly from the competition! As a Live Mock Invigilator in Australia’s one and only Live UCAT Testing Centre, your contribution will ensure our UCAT course continues to not only be a cutting-edge service, but also a friendly and welcoming community for our students.
This isn't just any admin or tutoring role; it’s a calling for someone deeply committed to excellence and dedication when it comes to supporting students with professionalism and dedication. We strive to remain Australia’s leading UCAT course, and as a live Mock Invigilator you will be a vital component of our vision, embodying Contour MedPrep's commitment to support and excellence during this crucial phase of a student’s education.
Who Are We?
Contour MedPrep is a leading medical preparation program that currently specialises in comprehensive UCAT & MMI preparation, aiming to empower and support the next generation of healthcare professionals in the highly competitive yet often daunting process of gaining entry into medical school.
Our UCAT course aligns itself with the objective of the UCAT, rigorously training students in the mental abilities and skills of a successful doctor or dentist, through engaging group lessons, comprehensive and abundant resources, live mock exams, 24/7 student support and so much more!
We are extremely committed to innovative and results-driven medical preparation, with industry-first initiatives such as our Live UCAT Testing Centre and student accountability system propelling our 2023 students to an industry-leading median UCAT score of 3040+, one student even setting the world record score of 3590.
Over 2,000 students and 25 staff have joined our tutoring services since our founding in 2020. Our growth is a testament to our dedication to providing ALL our students and parents with a high-quality tutoring experience (from 24/7 personal support to on-demand resources) and our commitment to helping them achieve their goals. We were listed as the 17th Fastest Growing Startup by the Australian Financial Review in 2022, and we're continuing to multiply year over year! It's our vision to reshape education, starting with tutoring.
What is our Live UCAT Testing Centre all About?
Since our first year of tutoring the UCAT, we consistently observed that even the most dedicated students tended to underperform on exam day. Why? The pressure, stress, incredibly high-stakes and foreign environment of a UCAT testing centre are like nothing they had experienced before! With no water bottles allowed, mandatory ID checks, patting themselves down, emptying pockets, being watched on CCTV, and intense time pressure, even the most well-prepared students often ended up ‘choking’ on their big day. 🤯
So, in 2023, we set up Australia’s first and only Simulated Live UCAT Testing Centre; determined to ensure our students get the marks they deserve! We have recreated the full testing centre experience, including the monitor, keyboard, mouse, room layout, laminated notebooks, markers, check-in process, exam invigilation and everything else. And as expected, students’ results skyrocketed, with our 2023 cohort breaking records as they conquered their nerves and thrived on testing day!
In 2024, we’re proud to still have the first and only centre in the country, reserved exclusively for Contour students! We provide 6+ mock exam sessions for each of our dedicated UCAT students. We have run 25+ mocks for 200+ students so far in our 2024 program, in a highly professional, efficient and fun environment at our live testing centre! We plan on running hundreds of more mocks throughout the year, and are relying on our dedicated live Mock Invigilators to provide a highly professional, friendly and accurate UCAT simulation experience for our students!
Comprehensive Training, Support & Personal Development
Working in a collaborative environment and an energetic team can be a fantastic opportunity to hone your interpersonal skills and learn so much along the way!
We'll help you upskill and refine your communication and problem solving skills, as you'll receive thorough training and support from our Head UCAT Tutor and more experienced live Mock Invigilators.
We have clear guides and checklists for all aspects of the role, and you’ll have hands-on training shifts to help you ease into the role, with detailed feedback and targeted advice from us to keep you performing at your very best!
By the end of your training, the role will become very familiar to you, and you will feel comfortable running a busy live UCAT testing centre and enhancing students’ experiences!
You'll also be engaged with the rest of the team through routine catch-ups, and over time you'll receive further perks and work opportunities. We'll also be there to support you through any personal ventures such as rent applications and job references!
