Are you passionate about shaping the future of Australia's energy landscape and keen to be a part of mentoring the next generation workforce for the New Energy sector? Do you have strong connections to your local community and a strong interest and understanding of the New Energy sector? We're looking for a dynamic individual to join us as a part-time NEAM Local Coordinator 1 to 2 days per week.

We are looking for three coordinators in the areas of: Limestone Coast - South Australia, Spencer Region - SA and South West - Victoria. 

About The Program: 
The New Energy Australia Mentoring program is a ground breaking initiative aimed at growing the workforce for New Energy in Australia. By sharing knowledge and fostering mentor-mentee relationships, we're building skills, knowledge, and networks within the sector, driving innovation and sustainability. 

The program’s key features include connecting apprentices with qualified, experienced clean energy tradespeople, individually-tailored mentoring and regular networking events,  which are all designed to improve the apprentice’s chances of completing their qualifications. 

There will also be regular networking events featuring TAFE providers, unions, employers, suppliers and other key industry partners so apprentices have the best opportunity possible to successfully complete there chosen apprenticeship 

The program is aimed at linking skilled workers with apprentices in industries such as solar, wind, power, hydropower, geothermal energy, bioenergy, ocean energy, battery storage and smart technology. Matching apprentices with industry mentors is key to maximising apprentice retention and completion rates while increasing workforce diversity.

As a NEAM Local Coordinator, you'll play a vital role in implementing the NEAM program within your local area.  

Responsibilities will include: 

  • Engaging and supporting volunteer mentors, providing guidance and encouragement. 
  • Conducting comprehensive induction and training sessions for new mentors.
  • Matching mentors with mentees effectively to ensure positive outcomes. 
  • Tracking local program performance through data collection and analysis. 
  • Coordinating local networking events and workshops to promote engagement and collaboration. 

What We're Looking For: 

We're seeking people who embody the spirit of their local community and have a passion for mentorship and talent development. The ideal candidate will have: 

  • Strong connections to local businesses and industries having been a business owner/operator or having worked in new or old energy sectors. 
  • Passion for mentoring, developing, educating and training people to build skills for now and the future. 
  • Experience and understanding of the New Energy sector. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities. 
  • Proficiency in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
