Cahill Transport is a rapidly growing business that’s been around for over 7 decades. We offer logistic services across the country including Interstate/local road freight, warehousing and wharfage.
Due to business growth we have a great opportunity for an experienced HR driver within our Direk, SA site.
This role will suit those who enjoy fast paced, energetic environments with a great dedicated and supportive team who really care about each other.
- Safely transport freight to and from specified customer/site locations.
- Practice safe driving and loading activities.
- Experienced with load restraint, weight distribution and COR.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers.
- All metro deliveries.
- Approximately 8-10 delivery locations per day on set routes.
- Undertaking and conducting pre & post start vehicle checks.
- Deliveries will include tailgate unloading of rolling cages.
- 4pm to 12 midnight is the standard shift.
- 3 day delivery cycle per week (Mon/Wed/Fri).
- Option for additional hours in warehouse or other driving duties if available.
- Grade 4 @ $28.20 perm / $31.59 casual.
- Experience operating a counterbalance and high reach would be advantageous.
- RF scanning of pallet receipts and movements.
- Experienced with load restraint, weight distribution and COR.
- Forklift and hand picking and packing of products.
- Good manual handling techniques.
- Assist with regular stock take and cycle counts.
- Follow dispatch systems and procedures – checking manifests/meeting quality standards etc.
About you:
- Current HR licence.
- Former truck driving experience.
- Ensure compliance with load restraint, in use of straps, angles, weight distribution and COR.
- Proficient in the use of a pallet jack – training provided.
- Current LF Forklift licence.
- Experience in RF scanning systems – advantageous.
- Former experience within road transport and/or warehousing.
- Flexible hours to support short notice of extended days / nights.
- Safety first mindset.
- Experience of palletised freight.
- Competently couple/uncouple various trailer types.
- Experienced reversing/manoeuvring into various docks and tight spaces.
- Ensure the truck is always maintained to a clean standard.
- Clear understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
- First class attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork.
