About the role
Undertake operations and maintenance of River Murray locks and weirs, contributing to the achievement of RMO performance targets. As a Lock Attendant you will play a pivotal role in ensuring safe and efficient operation, of locks and weirs and environmental assets whilst fostering positive stakeholder relationships.
Support SA Water's commitment to excellence by actively contributing to team goals, providing exceptional customer service, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and safeguarding environmental sustainability. Your efforts will directly impact the success of SA Water's mission in managing water resources effectively.
In addition, your responsibilities will include:
- Implement the direction set by your people leader. Collaborate effectively to achieve team goals. Create a culture of service excellence. Design: Provide safe public access to locks and facilities. Communicate effectively for the best customer outcome. Resolve customer issues promptly.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety policies. Participate effectively in team meetings and training programs. Comply with Asset Management system.
- Comply with SA Water's environmental policy. Assist with fish movement monitoring and environmental asset maintenance. Operate and maintain environmental assets to a high standard.
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of lock and weir structures. Collect and provide accurate data, conduct regular inspections. Ensure safe navigation passage, assist with fishway operation.
- Understanding of river systems, computer programs, and modern reporting systems.
- Ability to use electronic measuring devices, tools, and equipment.
- Effective communication (written and verbal), basic calculations.
- Restricted Coxswain Certificate, Boat Licence, Certificate III in Water Operations.
- White Card.
