About LifeFlight
We're looking for an energetic Logistics Store Person to become part of the LifeFlight Team. In this role, you'll collaborate with our close-knit group of aviation and maintenance experts, providing support for our cutting-edge fleet of Rescue Helicopters at our new state-of-the-art maintenance facility in Archerfield. As a Logistics Store Person, you'll be pivotal in ensuring the operational readiness of our aircraft, contributing to our mission of saving lives and supporting Queenslanders during their time of need.
About the Role
This is a full-time role with some weekend and on-call work as required. This position is based at LifeFlight’s Heavy Engineering and Maintenance base at Archerfield.
The Logistics Stores Person oversees the upkeep and organization of LifeFlight Australia’s Engineering Logistics, Hazardous Goods, and Quarantine Store. This encompasses tasks such as procuring parts and materials, controlling inventory, and fulfilling administrative needs.
Additionally, this role entails:
Inventory Management: oversee the inventory within the Logistics Store. This involves accurately tracking receipts and issues of parts and materials, maintaining optimal stock levels, and implementing strategies to minimize waste and optimize storage space.
Store Upkeep: maintain the upkeep of the store, ensuring that all parts and materials are stored appropriately and safely, and that the overall environment complies with relevant safety and regulatory standards.
Data Management: accurately record all transactions, including purchases, issues, and transfers, into the Inventory System.
Compliance: maintain strict adherence to Stores Procedures. This entails a thorough understanding of the prescribed protocols and a commitment to following them diligently.
About You
Having prior experience in a logistics position within the aviation industry, or expertise in all aspects of logistics such as procurement, inventory management, and material handling, is essential. Additionally, candidates should possess the skills and behaviours:
• Robust understanding of incoming goods processes; purchase orders and receipting
• Picking and packing with high accuracy and within designated deadlines.
• Ensuring inventory movements and inventory integrity are maintained
• Meeting internal and external stakeholder procurement needs, in a prompt and financially viable manner
• Previous management of international and domestic freight, including documentation and process requirements
• Comfortable with Hazardous Goods requirements and their safe storage, packaging, and dispatch
• Ability to conduct effective, accurate stocktakes and a knowledge of stock rotation and shelf-life parameters
• Competent in Microsoft Office Suite
• Commitment to continuous improvement and an eye for identifying opportunities
• Enthusiastic and drive to get the job done, while working within legislative and procedural guidelines
• Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in building and maintaining effective working relationships
• Current Forklift licence
• Aviation Australia AA-43 Goods Receipt and Dispatch Course (Highly desirable)
