In Australia, we operate five steelmaking coal mines in Queensland's Bowen Basin, and have additional joint venture interests in steelmaking coal and manganese, as well as copper exploration projects underway in North West Queensland and Western Australia.
Job Description
Longwall Superintendent- Moranbah North Mine
Reporting to the Operations Manager, as the Longwall Superintendent you will be responsible for managing all aspects of Longwall section activities and resources to mine coal safely, optimally and in accordance with the annual mine plan. You will enjoy working in a fast paced, high preforming team driving the remote operations through the utilisation of the installed Marco system.
Some of your responsibilities will include:

• Lead a team of operational, maintenance and automation personnel to maintain equipment in accordance with the short-term maintenance plan
• Demonstrate a commitment to the zero Harm philosophy with an emphasis on delivering safety improvements and efficiencies
• Drive the team to safely deliver the annual Longwall targets and improve performance over time.
• Deliver on other key performance metrics that will drive performance and results

Qualifications
To be successful in the role you will have to have the following:

• Extensive experience working in an underground coal mining environment with a proven track record of managing longwall move activities
• Experience in implementing longwall automation systems, remote operating centre (ROC) and bi-directional cutting
• Demonstrated leadership experience within the coal mining industry.
• Knowledge of relevant mining legislation and its application.
• Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills to influence and achieve buy-in from key stakeholders.
• An understanding of key safety risks and ways to mitigate them.
