M&A Manager
This role is tasked with identifying strategic buyers for businesses listed on Resolve for sale. Buyer-prospects will be identified by reading the information memorandum supplied, researching the market/industry, considering the avenues a buyer-would capture strategic value by acquiring the business in question, and forming 3-4 “strategic buyer archeptes”. Once set, build out a buyer-list fitting each strategic buyer archetype and then contact these parties in waves of outreach, tailoring the message on an individual basis to ensure reasoning for identifying each buyer-prospect is communicated clearly and concisely.
In addition to identifying prospective buyers on behalf of the businesses listed for sale on Resolve (and the Sale Advisers who listed the businesses on Resolve), this role will be occasionally tasked to find, contact, and originate business owners who are open to discussions about sale on behalf of a buy-side client.
This role is an active M&A role focusing specifically on progressing sell-side listings by canvassing the strategic buyer-market to introduce qualified buyer leads.
Resolve has a team of four M&A prospectors and we operate a flat structure. This is very much a high-paced, fun, and collaborative team environment. No two days are the same: there is a broad scope of opportunity that lends well to different personalities broadening their scope of work and taking on additional responsibilities in line with their skills, interests, and areas to gain exposure in line with your career development plan (short-medium term career plan).
Tasks include:
- Prospect buyers on behalf of businesses listed on Resolve;
- Ensure buyer-leads are progressing from initial enquiry towards NBIO and contract stage;
- Keep track of your work to provide a summary of prospecting activity to the client;
- Assume responsibility for account management in line with your degree of comfort and interest in client engagement, eg taking note of sell-side Adviser's catalogue of mandates, originating new Sellers in line with buy-side mandates, and more.
