About the role
As part of the Cutting Room team, you will cut and sand raw materials to company standards. Materials are cut to order and to also build stock. Treats that you cut may include: horns, tripe, tendon, jerky, tail tips and trail mix. You will maintain product quality, achieve production targets, and uphold a high standard of manufacturing practice.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure that all finished products are cut (and sanded where applicable) to specification.
- Undertake quality checks on all finished products.
- Sort, weigh, seal, label and pack finished products.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by ensuring proper labeling, counting, and recording of product.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient workflow.
- Clean and maintain equipment, immediate and general work area.
- Compliance with hygiene / food safety standards.
- Perform other associated duties as assigned.
Ideally, you will have:
- 3 – 5 years + experience in a fast paced Warehouse or Manufacturing environment.
- Proficient machine operation skills in using Band Saws (or equivalent) and Sanders.
- Experience in product assembly.
- A sense of urgency to meet tight deadlines.
- The ability to follow directions and processes to company standards.
- A positive attitude, team focused approach and a willingness to help out in other work areas.
- Excellent numerical and communication skills.
- Ability to write, read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- An understanding on how to perform your duties within a quality assurance environment.
- A proven track record of being reliable and punctual.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Availability to commit to 5 days per week.
